This year one of my goals was to continue cooking healthy food and try out more recipes! For the start of a new year, I think this would be a great habit to make. I definitely have my go-to meals that I love to make, but it’s also fun to branch out and find even more great options.
One thing that I tried for the very first time last year was making zucchini noodles. I had been seeing these all over. Since they’re so healthy and easy to make, they are hard to resist. I ended up buying my own spiralizer after trying out my friend’s in the fall. This one from Amazon doesn’t cost too much and is simple to use. This week, I made a zucchini noodle spaghetti with turkey meatballs…delicious!
Something else that I purchased right before this school year began was the Dash Mini Maker. So far, I have used it a ton for making my protein pancakes. Once you make the batter you just fill up the bottom, close the lid, and it cooks your pancakes super easily! You can also use the Dash Mini Maker to cook burgers. I haven’t tried this yet, but I definitely want to within the next month or so. Check out all the other uses for it in this video clip!
Fitpacker Meal Prep Containers
I absolutely could not live without these now! Every week on either Sunday or Monday, I will meal prep my dinners for the week and then pack them in my meal prep containers. These are the perfect size and stack nicely in my fridge. This way, in the evening I just have to stick one in the microwave for a minute or two and I have a healthy dinner all ready to be eaten!
I hope you enjoy my suggestions! Are there any other helpful kitchen gadgets or tools that you love to use?
