Who doesn’t love snacking? Especially at college when you’re going from class to class or up studying. Even when you’re just chilling watching Netflix, having something to snack on is always nice! As most of you probably know, all those unhealthy snack choices can add up real quick. These are some of my favorite healthy snack options to keep you full and not stuffing yourself with junk.
1. Boom Chicka Pop
I love popcorn but getting buttery and salty popcorn at the movie theater is so not good for you. Boom Chicka Pop comes in great flavors! My favorites, light kettle corn and sea salt popcorn, are just 35 calories a cup. Not bad at all. This popcorn is great to pack in a baggie and bring to class or pour a bowl while watching TV.
2. Halo Top
Ok if you haven’t tried Halo Top yet, you are missing out! I am a huge ice cream lover, but not a fan of all the calories and fat. Halo Top ice cream is to die for and it’s anywhere from 240 to 360 calories for THE WHOLE PINT. For just one serving of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream (1/2 cup), you could eat the entire pint of Halo Top, and there would still be less fat. Each pint has at least 20 grams of protein too, which is awesome! My favorite flavors of this healthy ice cream are sea salt caramel, peanut butter cup, and birthday cake. I really want to try s’mores and cinnamon roll though!
3. Pretzel Crisps
If your go-to at sporting events/concerts is a soft pretzel, you definitely should try Pretzel Crisps. I love packing some of these with my lunch or dipping them in some peanut butter in my dorm room! If you’re craving something salty, these are great because they satisfy you while also being a lot better for you than potato chips.
4. Pure Protein bars
If you’re looking for a good protein bar to have after working out or even just to keep you full in between meals, Pure Protein is the way to go! These bars literally taste like a candy bar to me. Can’t go wrong there. I love the chewy chocolate chip, chocolate deluxe, and chocolate peanut butter ones. With 20 grams of protein and 200 calories or less, these have great nutritional value.
5. Emerald Natural Almond packs
If you’re a nut person, these cute little packs are perfect for just a serving size. Emerald Natural Almonds taste so good and are good for you. Each pack only has 100 calories in it and they’re so easy just to slip in your purse when you’re on the go.
6. Lenny & Larry’s Complete Cookies
Sometimes you just need a cookie. I get it. I feel the same way sometimes. Lenny & Larry’s Complete Cookie is a great “treat yourself” snack, but also a lot better for you than having regular cookies. My only warning is to be sure to know that each cookie is 2 servings, so try to split it in half first so you’re not tempted! But I promise even with half a cookie, you’ll be full and satisfied (the cookies are HUGE). White Chocolate Macadamia is my fave at the moment…but I still have some more flavors to try. With half a cookie, you’re getting 8 grams of protein, which is a lot for a cookie and usually about 180 calories. Not too bad if you have a big sweet tooth.
7. Ritz Toasted Chips
Mmmm. These taste delicious when you’re looking for something crunchy and a bit salty. These are probably the one of the healthiest ways to eat chips without sacrificing taste. For 13 Ritz Toasted Chips, it is 130 calories and only 4.5 grams of fat…WAY less than a serving of potato chips. They also come in other yummy flavors like cheddar and sour cream and onion.
Hope you love these ideas! Feel free to share any of your go-to healthy snacks!
